Privacy policy

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is the publisher of griteer.com, a private individual acting on a non-professional basis who has chosen not to disclose their identity, as French law allows. You can reach them at any time at contactgriteer@gmail.com: this is the channel through which the rights described below are exercised, and every request receives a signed reply. This policy covers the website griteer.com only. The Griteer app will have its own privacy policy when it launches.

The data we collect

The website only collects what you enter in the “Stay in touch” form:

  • your email address;
  • your main sport;
  • your profile (athlete, coach or club);
  • the date you signed up and a record of your consent.

The website sets no cookies. The hosting provider keeps technical logs (IP address, pages requested) for a limited time, for the security of the service. Audience measurement is described below.

Audience measurement

To know how many people visit the site and which pages interest them, we use Umami, an analytics tool designed for privacy (Umami Software, Inc., Umami Cloud service, data hosted in the European Union).

  • No cookies, no identifier stored on your device, no tracking across sites.
  • Data collected, in aggregate form only: pages viewed, referring site, country, device type, browser, language.
  • Your IP address is used only to tell apart visits within a single day, through an anonymous fingerprint renewed daily; it is not stored.

These statistics cannot identify you. Limited to audience measurement, this tool is exempt from consent under French data protection law and the CNIL’s guidelines, which is why the site shows no banner.

Why, and on what basis

This data serves one purpose: letting you know when Griteer opens and when your sport becomes available. The processing is based on your consent, given by ticking the box in the form. You can withdraw it at any time, without giving a reason.

We send no newsletter, do not sell your data and do not pass it on to any partner.

Who has access

Form submissions are processed by Formspree, Inc., a company based in the United States, which forwards them to the site publisher and stores them on our behalf. This transfer outside the European Union is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, included in Formspree’s terms. Anonymous visit statistics are processed by Umami Software, Inc. under the conditions described above. No other third party has access to your data.

How long we keep it

Your data is kept until Griteer launches, then for twelve months at most, long enough to invite you to create an account. It is deleted sooner if you ask us to or if you withdraw your consent.

Your rights

At any time you can access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing, object to it or ask for it to be ported. Simply write to contactgriteer@gmail.com from the address concerned. We reply within one month.

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (3 place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris, cnil.fr), or with the supervisory authority of your own country.

Changes

This policy may change, in particular when the app launches. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. In the event of a significant change, people who have signed up will be informed by email.
